Volum Technologies (also known as Volum) is a deep-tech company specializing in real-time holoportation and immersive 3D communication. Officially launched in July 2025 as a spin-off from the i2CAT Research Center, Volum focuses on democratizing holographic presence by making high-quality, real-time 3D capture accessible using standard commercial cameras. Volum’s mission is to redefine digital interaction by replacing flat, 2D video calls with fully immersive, volumetric 3D telepresence. Unlike traditional high-end holographic systems that require expensive, studio-grade setups, Volum aims to make holoportation scalable and accessible for businesses and institutions by leveraging standard, mid-range depth cameras and advanced proprietary algorithms.
