Banco Sabadell is reaffirming its commitment and business leadership in the startups segment by opening a new hub devoted to the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The Institution, through its pioneering Spanish banking service BStartup, has opened an office dedicated exclusively to startups and scaleups in Barcelona, at Passatge Mercader 7-9.

The entrepreneurial tech hub of the Catalan capital will offer financial services to more than 1,800 startup clients. By the end of 2026, this number is expected to reach 2,000 clients. This new space will offer fully comprehensive financial services, including bank finance and equity investment through BStartup10 (the venture capital arm).

The new hub, measuring over 1,000 m2 and staffed with twenty highly specialised employees, joins the other hub already set up in Madrid at the end of 2024.

These two cities are estimated to be home to over 50% of Spain’s fledgling innovation and tech companies. During its first year in operation, BStartup Hub Madrid served more than 1,450 clients and, in 2025, it held 59 entrepreneurship events at its facilities, which were attended by over 3,400 people related to the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

BStartup Hub Barcelona will become a new space of connection, discussion and deliberation for the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the heart of Barcelona, as it will offer clients fully equipped rooms in which to meet with their partners, investors and clients, as well as hotdesking options and an informal workspace that can be used without booking when entrepreneurs are in the city centre, in addition to a modular auditorium that can seat 100 people in which to hold events aimed at the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

General Manager and Business Banking & Network Director at Banco Sabadell, Carlos Ventura, assured that these new spaces “consolidate our commitment to startups and scaleups. Ever since BStartup was first created in 2013, we have sought to be their top financial partner, through specialisation and proximity and by actively participating in their ecosystem. The entrepreneurial ecosystem has put its trust in us these past 12 years, allowing us to gradually grow into what today is a great team of more than 50 people dedicated exclusively to this segment, and it has also made it possible for us to launch these two dedicated hubs”.

With this new opening, Banco Sabadell is adding to its presence in the centre of Barcelona (within a radius of little more than 1km) with six different types of specialised offices: the new BStartup Hub Barcelona (Passatge Mercader), an office specialising in SMEs and small businesses (Rambla Catalunya/Rossellón), the Private Banking Hub (Av.Diagonal/Balmes), the Welcome Hub office devoted solely to international clients (Av.Diagonal,456), an office providing services for day-to-day administrative tasks (Rambla Catalunya/Valencia), and an office dedicated exclusively to large enterprises (Av.Sarrià).

BStartup, 4YFN Main Sponsor and exhibitor, will talk about the new hubs, its commitment to entrepreneurship, AI and innovation at their booth [8.1A40] and the sessions on 4YFN conference stages.

BStartup was created 13 years ago to meet the needs of the then relatively new market of startups – fledgling tech companies that were growing very rapidly and whose business and financing models differed from those of traditional firms.

Since then, Banco Sabadell, which offers startups an end-to-end service that includes advice, financial services, bank finance and equity investment, has cemented its place as the top bank for startups and today has more than 6,000 startup clients throughout Spain. It has also become one of the most active seed investors, having invested in 104 startups.
