Marta Portalés Oliva, PhD, is Head of European Projects at Mobile World Capital Barcelona (MWCapital), where she helps turn EU-funded innovation into real-world growth—accelerating deep-tech, connectivity, Industry 4.0/5.0, digital transformation and digital skills with measurable social impact. At the intersection of research, startups and industry, she designs and leads international R&I strategies that move ideas from proposal to pilots, scaling and market adoption. She is actively involved in tech transfer and startup acceleration, mentoring science-based ventures through The Collider (lab-to-market) and advising European initiatives that support deep-tech founders, including women in STEAM. With a strong track record in communication and dissemination across H2020 projects in smart mobility, connected cars, robotics and innovation ecosystems, she is a go-to connector for building partnerships, activating communities and amplifying impact. Marta holds a PhD in Communication and Journalism from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and lectures at UAB, UB and DCU. Since 2014, she has researched at UAB’s Gabinete de Comunicación y Educación, publishing in indexed journals on media literacy, digital environments and the societal impact of tech trends. She has been recognised with the DonaTIC Award 2025 (Government of Catalonia), CaixaBank Talento Joven 2022, and Transfiere 2024 for deep-tech science communication.
