Speaker Bio

I am an endocrinologist with a special interest in diabetes. I work with people whose disease has no cure today, and I aim to help them live without disabilities and have the best quality of life

I have seen how technology has changed diabetes: continuous glucose monitoring, hybrid closed loops and their algorithms to adjust insulin to their glucose tendencies have become the standard of treatment of type 1 diabetes.

However, people living with diabetes (PLWD) still don't have all their needs covered. Diabetes is variable and influenced by many facts. Data integration, machine learning, and digital solutions to improve their glucose control are still lacking. As health care providers we need tools to make cost-effective patient-centered care decisions.

And of course, diabetes cure is not here yet. We need beta cell restoration, and we haven't been able to get it yet.
