Thomas Bigagli

Plug and Play Ventures, Partner at Plug and Play Ventures

Speaker Bio

He has nearly a decade of experience at Plug and Play, working at the intersection of venture investments, fund strategy, and the design and scaling of innovation services and platforms across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

His journey with the company began during a study exchange in California, when a chance meeting with Saeed Amidi introduced him to Plug and Play’s global expansion vision. Since then, he has helped launch multiple international offices, built new innovation programs and service lines from the ground up, and co-founded the EMEA Investment Committee, which now drives the region’s investment strategy.

Today, he serves as Partner at Plug and Play Ventures (EMEA), managing family office investments and supporting the launch and management of tailored funds for strategic partners. He is also the architect of the firm’s Investment-as-a-Service model, enabling partners to invest directly in startups as operating partners with clear strategic and financial outcomes. In parallel, he advises C-suite executives at leading corporations, governments, and institutions on innovation hub launches and ecosystem development across regions, and lectures as a guest speaker at leading institutions including INSEAD, HEC Paris, ESADE, and London Business School.

Throughout his career, he has supported dozens of strategic partnerships, built new service lines, trained venture teams across multiple countries, and empowered entrepreneurs to reach key milestones. His work is guided by a clear conviction: to make innovation tangible by turning startup investments and partnerships into measurable ROI.
