Elisenda Bou Balust

Speaker Bio

Elisenda Bou is the co-founder of Cala, where she builds infrastructure for AI agents powered by trustworthy, explainable data. With a background in telecommunications engineering and artificial intelligence, her work has focused on information retrieval, machine learning, and large-scale data systems.

She previously co-founded Vilynx, an AI company specializing in video understanding and semantic search, which was acquired by Apple. Following the acquisition, she joined Apple, where she led applied AI and information retrieval initiatives, working on large-scale ML systems powering consumer products.

Her work centers on enabling developers to build reliable, agent-first applications grounded in structured, auditable data.
