JazzWorld, Pakistan, Chairman, Mobilink Bank & JazzCash and CEO & President

Speaker Bio

Aamir is among Pakistan’s most experienced and forward-looking digital sector leaders, with over three decades of experience driving technology-led transformation and inclusive growth. An alumnus of the University of Texas and IMD Switzerland, and a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School, he has served as CEO of Jazz since 2016.

Under his leadership, Jazz has evolved beyond a traditional connectivity provider into JazzWorld - an integrated, purpose-driven digital ServiceCo delivering connectivity, financial services, cloud solutions, insurance and digital platforms to over 100 million users nationwide. This transformation reflects a long-term strategy focused on expanding access, strengthening digital ecosystems, and supporting Pakistan’s economic modernization, ensuring a better life for all.

JazzWorld today represents a multi-vertical digital enterprise, backed by over USD 11 billion in cumulative infrastructure investment. At the core of this ecosystem is a strong financial services platform anchored by JazzCash and Mobilink Bank. JazzCash serves more than 57 million users through digital payments, lending and insurance, while Mobilink Bank extends payments, credit, and savings solutions to underserved communities - advancing financial inclusion at scale.

As JazzWorld’s platforms continue to grow, Aamir’s role encompasses stewardship of critical digital infrastructure, working with regulators and industry partners to support resilience, security, and public trust in essential digital services. As a member of VEON’s Group Executive Committee, Aamir helps shape the strategic direction of the group across five high-growth markets - Pakistan, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Bangladesh - supporting the evolution of digital ecosystems that serve around 160 million customers.

Beyond corporate leadership, Aamir plays an active role in national policy and development initiatives. He is a member of the Prime Minister’s Task Force on Digital Payments and the Cashless Economy, supporting efforts to accelerate financial inclusion and institutional capacity building. Internationally, he serves on the Advisory Council of WiDEF - a collaborative initiative led by USAID and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to close the global gender digital divide - and contributes to higher education governance through roles on the Board of Governors of the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) and the Senate of the National Defence University (NDU).

During national crises, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the floods of 2022 and 2025, he led Jazz’s nationwide efforts to sustain connectivity, emergency communications, and recovery support.

In recognition of his contributions to Pakistan’s digital and technology landscape, Aamir has been awarded the Hilal-i-Imtiaz.
