Raymond Liao is a VP and founding Managing Director at Samsung Next, an early-stage ventures fund of Samsung Electronics. For over 14 years, he has focused on investing in AI, Robotics, and Edge Infrastructure. Over the past four years, his team has backed some of the most ambitious founders globally, averaging one new deal per week.
Previously, Raymond was the founding CTO of Siemens’ Industrial Networking business in Germany. He began his career at Siemens Berkeley, where he worked to commercialize his PhD research into a startup. While the initial venture did not survive the post–dot-com bubble, it later succeeded as a spin-in and grew into the market-leading industrial WLAN business.
