Description

Lyric Kaplan is an Associate in the Privacy and Data Security Group at Frankfurt, Kurnit, Klein and Selz. She advises domestic and international clients on an array of privacy, cybersecurity and technology matters involving the collection, use, analysis, storage, and monetization of data. Her work focuses on creating compliant and scalable privacy and data security programs, policies and practices to overcome compliance hurdles presented by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US), credentialed by the International Association of Privacy Professionals and has a Master of Laws (LLM) in Privacy and Cybersecurity from Loyola Law School.
Ms. Kaplan has a passion for artificial intelligence and law. She co-authored the article “Artificial Intelligence: Risks to Privacy and Democracy” published in the Yale Journal of Law and Technology and has written several articles on CCPA and other privacy laws such as the Canadian Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and amendments to Nevada’s privacy law.
