Iker Marcaide, is Founder & Chairman of Zubi Group, a group of impact companies focus on Cities/Real Estate (Zubi Cities), Education (Imagine Montessori School), Venture Building (Zubi Labs), Investment Management through various funds and MFO (Zubi Capital) and Consulting (Hands on Impact). Zubi focuses on solving social and environmental challenges such as climate change, circular economy, and social inclusion by creating and investing in impact businesses.
Previously, Iker founded the fintech Flywire between Spain and USA and ran it as CEO until Dec 2013 creating the global leader in international education payments. Flywire has been the first company with Spanish origins to be listed on Nasdaq.
Iker is a Trustee of Social Nest Foundation, a member of The Impact and has a personal dedication to improving the lives of people with diabetes type 1.
He is an MIT Sloan MBA and MIT School of Engineering MS, and Industrial Engineer from the UPV. He started his professional career as a strategy consultant at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG).
