Iker Marcaide is the current head of Zubi Labs, which impacts businesses with social and environmental value beyond economic profitability. It focuses primarily on developing young talents and sustainable business models and on generating income for groups at risk of social exclusion.
Iker is the founder of PeerTransfer (now Flywire), the world leader in international payments in the educational sector. He was awarded the TR35 Award by MIT Technology Review, a prize given to emerging innovators.
In 2018, Flywire was elected The Next Billion-Dollar Company by Forbes magazine and had received $230M of investment from VCs and PEs. In 02/2020, it surpassed the $1 billion valuation mark (Spain’s third unicorn). Iker has an MBA and Master in Operations Management from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. Iker is also an investor and a consultant at several businesses in Spain and the USA and is a trustee of Fundación Social Nest.
