David Freeman is the Co-Founder and Co-Head of the Digital Media department at leading entertainment and sports agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA). Based in the Los Angeles office, Freeman has been at the forefront of the digital media marketplace, leading CAA across all areas of digital.
Freeman works with both the agency’s traditional and digital clients to secure innovative content partnerships with digital distributors, OTT platforms, social media platforms, digital publishers, and advertisers.
Under Freeman’s leadership, the team’s packaging, talent, branded content, and VR work has led to the formation of new business models, global IP sales, the launch of new digital companies, and key investments for the company. Freeman also leads the agency’s efforts across all areas of immersive media including AR, VR, and interactive storytelling.
Prior to joining CAA, Freeman served as General Manager of MATTER, Edelman Sports and Entertainment Marketing. In 2003, he co-founded MATTER to forge and develop marketing partnerships for brands, entertainment companies, and content creators. Freeman was instrumental in expanding MATTER into new markets, driving new business, and leading the creation of its digital content offering. MATTER was acquired by Edelman in 2006.
Previously, Freeman led a joint venture between OMD and Aaron Walton Entertainment, two of the leading media and entertainment companies within the Omnicom network. Additionally, he held positions at CNB Entertainment, an entertainment finance and development company, and NFL Properties in its Corporate Sponsorship Sales and Marketing Division.
Freeman graduated from Emory University with a degree in Political Science.
