Carles Marcos i Guàrdia

Description

Carles graduated in Business Administration and Management from ESADE Barcelona (2010-2014), having had the opportunity to gain experience abroad as an intern at McCann (London), Henkel (Shanghai) and Rocket Internet (Munich).

In 2014, he began his journey in strategic consulting within the automotive (Audi, VW, Ford and Porsche, among others) and banking (Banc Sabadell) sectors, at Nexe Group. In 2016, he returned to the startup world and enrolled in the sales and business development department at the British fintech company GoCardless, the world’s first direct debit payment network. He closed deals for more than 100,000 € ACV (Annual Contract Value) in the energy and telecommunications sector, and led the expansion of GoCardless in the Spanish market.

Finally, in April 2019, Carles joined Qonto, a leading neobank for companies and freelancers in Europe, as Spanish Country Manager. He has achieved recurrent growth for Qonto in the country and he is now positioned as an influencer on the Spanish fintech and entrepreneurship sectors. Carles has been featured as a speaker at top tier regional events such as South Summit and Valencia Digital Summit.
