Back for a second year as our Founders and Investors Partner, La French Tech will be demonstrating a series of exciting innovation challenges in conjunction with IBM to showcase the talent and know-how of some of the greatest French innovators at our forthcoming 4YFN event!
Since 2013, €200 million has been invested in private incubators and accelerators to support French startups. The name of this movement is known as “La French Tech,” a banner shared by both French startups and the French government which supports them.
We caught up with La French Tech to find out why they decided to partner with us for the second year in a row and what’s in store for 2017….
How has the event impacted on La French Tech since it took place in February 2016?
4YFN has been the first step for strengthening our reach out in Spain. We were able to really experiment at 4YFN and get a good first impression on the Spanish tech ecosystem. We have continued building strong relations between the French Tech and Spanish ecosystems since then.
Moreover, 4YFN was our first French Tech Hackathon. It was so successful that we decided to renew the experience at DLD in Tel Aviv in September.
Are there any success stories you wish to share with us?
The three startup projects that won our French Tech Hackathon at 4YFN greatly benefitted from their overall experience and are very keen to come back next year, but this time, as real exhibitors!
Our media coverage was fantastic; we managed to share the word of the entrepreneurial boom France has been experiencing in the last couple of years.
What were the highlights for La French Tech during 4YFN?
After three days of Hackathon and intense work, our three winners were able to pitch their projects on stage in front of more than 150 4YFN attendees, which was an amazing opportunity for these young innovators and a chance to get good feedback on their projects.
The Chairman’s reception at the beginning of 4YFN was also a great opportunity for our startups to network with high level people such as C-levels of big companies, investors and journalists.
What are the main reasons La French Tech returns to 4YFN next year?
La French Tech will be back to 4YFN in 2017 to “keep the conversation going” with both the Spanish and international tech ecosystems. 4YFN is the perfect stage to do so: its audience is global and of a high level. We will be there to engage with international investors willing to invest in French startups as well as with international startups willing to develop their business in France.
What does La French Tech have planned for next years´ event?
In 2017, La French Tech will partner with IBM Watson to organise innovation challenges featuring some of the most skilled developers from all over France. Stay tuned for more details!
We are very pleased to have La French Tech on board again as one of our main partners of the 4YFN 2017 event, which will be held in Barcelona on 27 February – 1 March 2017.
