Daniel heads Telefonica’s Group Devices & IoT unit, which focuses on helping Telefonica’s Operating Businesses range, procure and commercialise the best range of devices; obtaining differentiation and competitive commercial terms from handset vendors and ecosystem players; increasing device sales and revenues; driving strategic device commercial programs at group level; ensuring technical device readiness for new technologies; leading Circular Economy initiatives globally; and bringing to market innovative device centric propositions and monetization opportunities.
From April 2013 to October 2016, Daniel was the Global Procurement & Markets Director, based in Munich, Germany, where he was responsible for all device purchases globally with interfaces to all local device procurement teams in each country. His responsibilities also included leading the global negotiation with all device vendors, delivering on target efficiencies, and deploying group purchasing processes and tools.
Daniel joined Telefonica Digital in May 2012 as Global Head of Portfolio, based in Slough, UK. Before that he had over 12 years of experience in the mobile industry in a range of roles at European level for LG Electronics, as Director of Product Marketing in LG Mobile Europe (based in Slough, UK), Vodafone Group, as Senior Global Device Product Manager in Dusseldorf, Germany. Daniel also has experience in other companies in France and UK as a strategic consultant specialised in mobile industry.
He is a Telecommunications Engineer by the University of Sevilla, Spain, and a MSc in Communication Systems by the University of Swansea, Wales.
