Give First and Disrupt: The Social Nest Foundation Talks Impact

For the first time, 4YFN has launched 4Impact – an initiative dedicated entirely to making the world a bit better by harnessing the power of entrepreneurship. We believe that the next generation of entrepreneurs have impact written into their DNA. They harbour our best hopes for change.

At 4YFN Barcelona 2020, 4Impact will include a hub, dedicated to projects with social or sustainable impact and a programme of speakers spreading their expertise. We are very grateful to be joined on this journey by our Valencian counterparts and sisters from other misters Social Nest Foundation. Social Nest Foundation fosters innovative projects and startups that have cause within their strategy.

Krloos is one of an elite number of 4YFN Ambassadors spreading our vision throughout the European ecosystem and helping to make the next edition of 4YFN the best ever. We have had the benefit of working with Krloos Rivera, Social Nest’s Chief Entrepreneurship Officer, over the last year to shape the new initiative. We caught up with Krloos to get his thoughts on the future.

Why are you coming to 4YFN? What do you want to explore?

I’m coming to 4YFN (again!) to support people and organizations in the development of entrepreneurial proposals that respond – through technology – to social and environmental challenges in a sustainable way.

What is your mantra when it comes to work and to innovation?

My mantra is give first. Give first and disrupt!

What has been the biggest innovation or disruption to your field in the last 4 years?

The emergence of Tech 4 Goodhas been a major step change in the whole field of technology. Of course technology has impacted people’s lives along the way: helping some people, making life more difficult for others. But to have the stated intention that goodness should be designed into its DNA – that’s something really positive and that we’re seeing change things around the world.

What technology are you most excited about 4 years from now and why?

I can’t wait to see what will happen with Artificial Intelligence. There are so many weird and wonderful applications for AI, that you probably need AI to imagine them all. This is also an area that needs the right incentives and the right people involved in its development – for its fair application and to ensure its impact is a positive one.

Spiderman or Batman?

Batman

How did you come to that conclusion?

Because Batman doesn’t have superpowers, he gets by with his mind and his wit. Like me!
