BIND 4.0 Basking in the Advanced Manufacturing Leadership of the Basque Country

BIND 4.0 Basking in the Advanced Manufacturing Leadership of the Basque Country

The Basque country has one of the highest industrial concentrations in Europe. It is home to more than 30,000 researchers and it exports around a third of its GDP. More than a quarter of its GDP is industrial and is a base for many large corporations.[1]

The autonomous region is an engine for growth for the Spanish economy and a technological hub of excellence, which is why it is so important to keep driving innovation there.

BIND 4.0 is an acceleration program aimed at tech startups with solutions applied to Advanced Manufacturing, Smart Energy, Health Tech or Food Tech fields. It’s a public-private initiative that promotes the development of innovative Industry 4.0 projects with top-level companies and accelerates the startups through training, high-impact mentorship, funding, and connections to the main industrial players in the region – without taking an equity stake.

Last week, 80 startup finalists were named ahead of the biggest edition of Bind 4.0 yet. Next week they will gather at the annual BIND 4.0 Meeting Point where they will vie for high value contracts with leading manufacturers and corporations.

Always keen to join the party, especially where building the Spanish startup ecosystem is concerned, 4YFN is hosting an After Work 4.0, a Happy Hour to keep the networking moving after seminars on Wednesday end.

Join us in Bilbao next week to see what the future of industry looks like and how startups will be driving the change! https://agenda.spri.eus/meetingpoint/en
