2 weeks after exhibiting at 4YFN, startup Tapdo reached 80% of their funding goal

We were thrilled to hear from Tapdo, a startup that exhibited at our flagship event back in February this year were overwhelmed by the ‘entrepreneur spirit’, saying it was the first exhibition they have been too that really focuses on startups.

Thank you Tapdo, for your kind words! This is what our platform and slogan “connecting startups” is all about!

Tapdo is a tech startup from Germany that was founded in the Summer of 2016. The concept started to be developed more than two years ago. One of our founders did his PhD in Human-Computer-Interaction and this is when he came up with this innovative idea.

‘……everything is becoming ‘smart’ and we have many new devices and apps, but no easy way to control them’

He realised that everything is becoming ‘smart’ and we have many new devices and apps, but no easy way to control them. That’s how the concept of Tapdo was born.
Tapdo is a smart button that works with a fingerprint sensor. In this way, one can assign different functions to all different finger parts of one’s hand and create easy shortcuts to control favourite apps and devices. You can see a short clip here. Everything with ‘just one tap’ – The world’s smallest remote!

‘…….it’s innovative, young, motivating and exciting!’

One thing in particular that we really liked about the 4YFN exhibition is that it is different from the others – it’s innovative, young, motivating and exciting!

‘You can really feel the startup spirit’

We have been to some exhibitions before but 4YFN Barcelona 2017 was the first one to really focus on startups. You can really feel the startup spirit!
The visitors all knew about the challenges that startups face and they were all very interested in new concepts and the latest tech trends. It was a great experience to meet a lot of excited people from all over the world that wanted to know more about our invention.

‘……make sure you are well prepared, show an exciting demo to your visitors and of course visit the aftershow parties’

If you are planning to exhibit in the future, my advice would be, just make sure you are well prepared, show an exciting demo to your visitors and of course visit the aftershow parties and enjoy the whole experience as much as you can!

‘…….we got to meet a lot of interesting startups that gave us some great advice’

During the exhibition we got to meet a lot of interesting startups that gave us some great advice for our campaign and shared their contacts and experiences with us. Many of them congratulated us on our idea, gave us a lot of input by telling their own stories behind their small businesses and they are still keeping in touch with us.

‘…….we already reached about 80% of our funding goal’

A few weeks after exhibiting at 4YFN, we started our crowdfunding campaign on kickstarter to try to reach our funding goal of 45,000 €. Of course, we wrote a short note to all our contacts that we met at 4YFN. After only two weeks, we already reached about 80% of our funding goal, which was a great success for our small company! For us as a startup this was a wonderful experience and we are looking forward to the development of our kickstarter campaign and to the answer of the question ‘where will Tapdo be four years from now?’”
